Governance

How CIESEA is constituted and led

CIESEA is a registered society in Uganda. Its constitution provides for a General Assembly, an elected Executive Committee, and membership categories that keep comparative and international education connected across East Africa.

The Executive Committee consists of a President, the immediate Past President, a President Elect, two Vice Presidents, additional members, and the Executive Secretary. The Committee is elected by the General Assembly every three years. An Executive Secretary is appointed for a tenure of five years.

What the constitution covers

Name and purpose

The Society exists to encourage teaching, research, and innovation in comparative and international education.

Membership

Ordinary, student, honorary, and institutional members, with dues paid at the start of each calendar year.

General Assembly

The Assembly elects the Executive Committee, approves honorary membership, and receives society reports.

Legal standing

Registered in Uganda as Comparative International Education Association East Africa Ltd, limited by guarantee.
